There’s a tutorial on my blog here: http://benjii.me/torrential/getting-started-guide/ but it’s a bit difficult to find. I’m planning on building a tutorial into the app to help make things easier.

Use the new "µTorrent Remote" for authentication
The µTorrent team created a new remote access feature using some kind of cloud based authentication and access strategy.
https://remote.utorrent.com/The GREAT advantage of this feature is there is no need to specify a hostname or a IP address to connect to a µTorrent client
There is already an Android app using this. You may contact "falcon" to get the API details.

Add a "favourite web sites" list to the add torrent screen for quick navigation
When you're on the add torrent screen, allow the user to add the current website to a favourites list, which they can access and navigate to, within the add torrent screen.

Check inputs in the connect form
When you start the app for the first time, you're asked the hostname, username and password. You should check the input fields are not empty and try to connect to the client BEFORE navigating to another page. This makes the app crash.
